In July of 2005 we relocated to Waxhaw, North Carolina. Almost every day you can hear train horns from the south as they pass through the well travelled branch line. On quiet nights, you can also hear the engines strain as they traverse the line. East of Waxhaw is the Union County seat, Monroe. CSX has a small yard there and the tracks split just north of the yard. One line goes north towards Charlotte and the other heads west to Waxhaw and beyond.
